My goals for this month are a bit of a mixed bag… there are travel goals, blog goals and health/fitness goals to fulfil, so it’s time to crack on!
- Start researching our trip to Iceland
We are hoping to visit Iceland next year, so I need to make a start on researching flights/accommodation/car hire/what to see… I would like to at least get the flights booked before Christmas. I LOVE planning holidays so am really looking forward to this!
- Try to sort out our trip to Lanzarote
Unfortunately, we were amongst the thousands of people who had flights booked with Monarch Airlines, who are now in administration. That’s almost £1000 that we may well not see again, not to mention the accommodation deposit we will also lose if we don’t go. So we need to decide whether to book more flights and hope we get our money back at some point or cancel the holiday. This is one of the downsides to not booking a package holiday I guess… if things go wrong you have very little protection.
- Start training for a marathon in Spring
I am hoping to do a marathon in Spring. I entered the ballot for the Virgin London Marathon (again) but for the fifth consecutive year I was unsuccessful. My alternative option is Brighton (which I have done once before). As I have not run now for a few months I really need to get back to it if I want to run 26.2 miles in six months time… time to lace up those trainers!
- Plan and write a batch of posts in advance
I really envy bloggers who have lost of posts scheduled, as I never have. I have lots of ideas written down and quite a few part-written posts but that’s about as organised as I get! Although to be fair, I do also work part-time, have a daughter with a heavy training schedule (I spend a lot of my life at swimming pools!), and a husband who works away a fair amount. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I don’t have much time… but this month I am determined to get on top of my blogging!
- Start planning where we will spend Christmas and New Year
Our families are spread out so Christmas is usually a logistical nightmare… added to which, my daughter will be training between Christmas and New Year, which just complicates arrangements even further! I would love to go away for Christmas again but I would feel too guilty about not seeing my family…
