My 2018 Travel Plans

Here we are at the start of 2018 and a fresh, new year of travel awaits… hopefully!  But, due to various unforeseen circumstances my travel for this year is not as well-planned as I thought it was just a few months ago!

We should have been going on a group trip to Lanzarote for a week of sun and sport in February but, due to the collapse of Monarch Airlines, that trip is no longer going ahead unfortunately.  The other spanner in the works is our daughter’s swimming and music commitments, which severely limit when we can get away… but, don’t worry, there are still plans afoot for this year – there just may be lots of shorter trips that’s all!

So these are our travel plans so far:

Center Parks, Whinfell Forest – August

I love all the activities available at Center Parks for both adults and children and I particularly like this park as it is situated in the picturesque English Lake District.  The lodges are comfortable and beautifully located in the forest – you can sit in the living area and watch squirrels and birds right outside the patio doors. We have been here a number of times before and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it!  It’s also a great place to stay if you love walking and being outdoors – there are so many great walks in the Lake District.

Camping Trips – Spring/Summer

We are hoping to get a camping trip or two in at some point this year as we bought a big, new tent last year so would like to get out and use it… read my review here: Kit Review: The Vango Farnham 500.  At the moment we are thinking of going to Wales – I’d love to visit the Brecon Beacons.  I’m a big fan of camping – I love being out in the fresh air.  And my favourite part… the camping breakfast of course!

New York City – November

Matt and I are off to NYC with friends in November, staying close to Times Square, right at the heart of the action.  We are looking forward to checking out a show (not sure which one yet) and finding some new places to explore, having visited many of the traditional tourist destinations on our previous trip, which you can see more of here: NYC in Photos.

The rest of the year (including our main summer holiday) is a little up-in-the-air due to our plans changing, but keep a look out for updates throughout the year…

Happy Travelling!

Center Parcs looks awesome, and in the lakes as well. Can’t wait to see a review for that one. Have an awesome time
