What do you think of when someone mentions Spain’s ever-popular holiday destination, Benidorm? Sunshine? Vast, sandy beaches? Lively nightlife? Maybe you think of all of these things… I know I certainly do! As you already know, I’m a big fan of travel in general but one of my very favourite places to visit in Europe is Spain. I love the climate, the culture, the food, and the laid-back Spanish way of life… so what does Benidorm on Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca have to offer visitors?
The first thing that springs to mind when I think of Benidorm are its famous family-friendly, sandy beaches with their beautiful palm-lined promenades, backed by shiny, high-rise hotels. The beaches look so vast that there seems to be plenty of space for everyone, even during the peak summer months!
And then there is the warm, sunny climate. I am definitely a warm weather person… I’ll be honest, anywhere that has a mild climate year-round is instantly appealing to me! Whilst temperatures reach up to 30oC in Summer, even during the winter months temperatures can still reach a pleasant 20oC in Benidorm.
The other draw for many holidaymakers is the huge variety of attractions available for visitors of all ages. Whether you have young children who like to play on the beach or by the pool, teenagers who want to be entertained or whether you are a couple or a party of adults looking for restaurants and great nightlife, Benidorm seems to have plenty to keep everyone happy!
If after a few days you are getting bored of the beach (really?), why not head inland to the nearby theme park of Terra Mitica and ride its thrilling rollercoasters or, if you want to cool off, go and make a splash at the Aqualandia Benidorm water park. Alternatively, why not hire a car and take a day trip to one of the nearby resorts, such as Calpe or Denia or visit beautiful Alicante, all of which are only a short drive away?
Hotels? Benidorm has a huge range of options to suit all budgets and wish lists… your only problem is going to be choosing which one suits you best! (You can search for your ideal hotel at HolidayGems.co.uk) And then there are the many restaurants that Benidorm has to offer – from fast food to family-friendly options to fine dining for that special occasion – you can eat out somewhere different every day!
Benidorm certainly has a lot to offer, which is why it remains such a popular holiday destination… I’ll be taking a trip there soon, how about you?
