Well, my name is Kate and I’m a forty-something mum of one with a lifelong passion for travel and languages (I teach Spanish and translate from Spanish into English when I’m not travelling or blogging!). I have travelled widely, but my favourite part of the world so far is Latin America – I love the variety of the landscapes and the many diverse and vibrant cultures found in the region.
I started as a freelance travel writer and blogger on a bit of a whim back in April 2017… It was a way of sharing the thousands of photographs and notebooks full of scribbles that I have accumulated over the years – I must have enough to keep me going for at least the next 10 years! I will also shortly be starting to write a book about my travels…
I am also a keen photographer and enjoy travel and abstract photography… you can see more of my images on Instagram at Kate Loves Travel.
In between all the travelling, Spanish teaching and blogging, I am training to be a counsellor and volunteer as a Caseworker for the RAF Association and run the Veterans In Crisis Line (a telephone helpline supporting UK veterans).
I hope you enjoy reading my blog and that it inspires you to get out and explore this beautiful planet we live on!
Happy Travelling!
